Everything grown-ups ask

What ages is ReadPals for?

ReadPals is designed for children roughly 4 to 7 years old — from first letter sounds through blending simple words. Younger and older readers are welcome too; the app meets each child where they are.

Do children need to read already?

Not at all. ReadPals is built for pre- and early readers. Because tasks use audio and pictures instead of on-screen words to copy, a child who cannot yet read can play independently from day one.

What makes it "no-giveaway" phonics?

Many apps quietly let kids succeed by matching identical text. ReadPals never shows the answer as text to copy — a child hears a sound and chooses from pictures, so they are truly decoding, not pattern-matching.

Can I see how my child is doing?

Yes. Parents and educators get a simple progress view showing which sounds a child has mastered, which they are practicing, and what comes next — no jargon, no test scores.

Is ReadPals safe and private?

Safety is a first-class design goal. There are no ads, no chat, and no open web links inside the child experience. Optional recording features are off by default and only a grown-up can enable them.

Do I need to install anything?

No. ReadPals runs in any modern web browser on a tablet, phone, or computer. There is nothing to download and nothing to keep updated.

How much does it cost?

You can start playing for free. We are finalizing family and classroom plans — jump into the app to try it and we will keep you posted on pricing before anything is ever charged.

Can teachers use it in a classroom?

Absolutely. ReadPals works well as a phonics station or small-group activity, and the progress view helps educators spot which sounds a group needs more practice with.
