A kids-first privacy promise
Plain-language summary of how we think about children’s data. This is a template and not legal advice; the definitive policy will be published before any personal data is collected.
ReadPals is built for children roughly ages 4–7 and the grown-ups who care for them. We designed the product so that the child experience needs as little personal data as possible.
What we believe
- No advertising and no ad-tech tracking inside the child experience.
- No selling of personal information — ever.
- Data minimization: we avoid collecting what we do not need to help a child read.
- Grown-ups stay in control of any optional features that involve recording.
Information we may process
To show reading progress, ReadPals keeps a record of which sounds and activities a child has practiced. Where an account exists, a parent or educator may provide contact details to manage it. Optional recording features are off by default and can only be enabled by a grown-up.
Children’s privacy
We aim to align with laws that protect children online, including COPPA in the United States and GDPR-K in the EU/UK. Accounts are created and managed by parents, guardians, or educators, not by children.
Your choices
A parent or educator can request access to, correction of, or deletion of account data at any time. To make a request or ask a question, email hello@readpals.com.
Changes
When we finalize the full policy, we will post it here and note the effective date. We will not begin collecting personal data from families before that policy is in place.
